if only you'd turned the camera around towards Leith and the sea, I might be able to point and go 'oooh, ooh, my house, my house!'….it has a turret so is fairly easy to spot.
A turret? Your house has a *turret*?
I have a new photography target, next time I’m in ‘burgh.
If you don’t mind, of course?
I read a novel once in which someone was tossed off there and killed. I'd never seen it, so I had something smaller in mind. Now I get it. I wonder if I could get a gig up there so I could toss and egg over the edge and wait for the splat?
In that case, I probably have a photo of your house, Helen.
I took plenty. I'll zip 'em up and send them along.
A turret, you say? Sounds like a story. Do tell.
I asked Laura (my guide) if Salisbury Crags were a prime suicide spot, but she didn't know of it – but yes, quite a plunge. I'm sure Rebus has encountered at least one such case.
It's be great for sniping people on the ass with paintballs.
I'm just saying that in a hypothetical, objective sense, without giving away any hint of my actual personality.
